My family and I are please to share our journey with our dogs and puppies with you. Our first puppy was White and named Duchess, she purchased in 2004 from Karen Green of Desert Reef Poodles in St.George, Utah. She is white and very smart. She was purchased for our son who at the time was 11yrs old. He was introduced to standard poodles the year before and informed me just how cool they were, so after checking out the breed, we went ahead and purchased her, What a great decision. I made sure however if I bought this puppy for him that he would be solely responsible for all aspects of her. She has made our son feel he has a purpose due to the responsibilities of taking care of an animal. Soon after bringing Duchess home it was time for obedience to begin. After 10 months of our boy training her, she passed obedience and was asked to compete, however he was not interested in that aspect of training. Too bad she would kick but! He brushes washes and dries his girl and I do the clipping and toes. It was not long after having her for that I just was amazed at how much I loved this dog!
I soon decided to get another standard for me (I am so selfish). Quintin, my silver beauty was purchased in 2005. I had him shown all over California before ever meeting him personally. That was very hard for me and I spent several nights crying asking myself why am I doing this? He has several first place and reserves but after 10 months of showing I decided to clear the stress from my life and have fun (showing was not fun for me or him). So Keenan and I went into obedience and agility with our dogs. It wasn't long after that we got our third poodle .
Kia (jet black) she was imported from Prague, Czechoslovakia. Her bloodlines are cleaner and Karen who has become and has remained one of my best friends. She is part of a poodle genetic club, her studying and research She has helped me in so many ways... what lines to avoid and what lines are cleaner. We co-own Kia she is amazing true hunting dog! She is remarkably fast and keeps her head to the ground. She could sniff out anything we challenged her with.
Our next poodle is Cassie a black and white parti. Although this decision to purchase Cassie in 2004 was made very quickly, we are not focusing our breeding on parti poodles. Cassie has however brought some amazing learning opportunities to me; she is a small standard standing at 19 inches. Cassie is reserved and came from a home that must have had her in a crate a lot. She loves women but has trust issues with some men. However she has come along way.
Needless to say we love our dogs and are excited to raise our puppies to share with you and your loved ones.
